Michal Buchowski is professor of Anthropology at the University of Poznan in Poland, and of Comparative Central European Studies in Frankfurt/Oder in Germany. Currently he is a visiting professor and Kosciuszko Foundation fellow at Rutgers University. He is writing his next book on the encounter of the free market and democracy with realities of post communist Poland at the grass roots level in contemporary Poland especially rural communities.
