Gerald Seib is currently executive Washington editor and chief commentator for The Wall Street Journal and formerly was the newspaper’s longtime Washington bureau chief. He writes a weekly column, “Capital Journal,” about politics, national affairs, and foreign policy, and his responsibilities include oversight of The Wall Street Journal/NBC polls, as well as the paper’s daily newsletters and video features. Seib's history with the Journal goes back nearly 40 years when he began as a reporter, and over his career, he has covered the White House, the Pentagon, and the State Department, including a stint in the Middle East. He appears regularly on television as a commentator and has moderated three presidential debates. In 2002, he was part of the Wall Street Journal team that won the Pulitzer Prize for breaking news coverage of the 9/11 attacks. In 1990, he received the Gerald R. Ford Foundation prize for distinguished reporting on the presidency.
