Ed Howell is vice president and chief executive officer of the University of Virginia Medical Center. He was appointed to this position on February 25, 2002, after having served for eight years as director and CEO of the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Prior to those positions he served as executive director of the Medical College of Georgia Hospital and Clinics for eight years and before that, ten years on the administrative staff of the University of Minnesota Hospitals.
