Farhang Rajaee is an associate professor of political science and humanities at Carleton University. He specializes in political theory and international relations with emphasis on non-Western traditions, particularly modern Islamic political thought. He received his Ph.D. in foreign affairs from the University of Virginia in 1983. From 1986 to 1996, he was a professor at the University of Tehran, the Iranian Academy of Philosophy, and Beheshti (National) University. He also was a fellow at St. Antony's College, Oxford, (1990-1991). In 1996 he served as a research fellow at Zentrum Moderner Orient, Berlin, where he worked on the topic of globalization and the Islamic world.
