Bruce Cain, Robson professor of Political Science at the University of California, Berkeley, and director of the Institute of Governmental Studies, came to Berkeley from the California Institute of Technology, where he taught form 1976 to 1989. His writings include The Reapportionment Puzzle (1984), The Personal Vote (1987), written with John Ferejohn and Morris Fiorina, and Congressional Redistricting (1991), with David Butler. He has been a consultant to the Los Angeles Times (1986-89) and serves as a political commentator for numerous radio and television stations in the Bay Area.
