Thomas Lynch is a funeral director, an essayist, and a poet. He is the author of The Undertaking: Life Studies from the Dismal Trade (1998); Still Life in Milford: Poems (1999), and Bodies in Motion and at Rest: Of Metaphor and Mortality (2001).
