Featuring the most distinguished scholars in their fields, this Miller Center lecture series reaches back into the American past to gain perspective on the way presidential leadership has evolved over time, from the founding of the country to the present.

Organized by Marc Selverstone and Stefanie Georgakis Abbott, the 2018 lecture series on “Internationalism and American Global Leadership” will examine the evolution of internationalism since the Wilsonian era and think about the future of America’s role in the global stage.

Trygve Throntveit

Trygve Throntveit is Dean's Fellow for Civic Studies at the University of Minnesota College of Education and Human Development (CEHD), where he edits The Good Society: A Journal of Civic Studies. A historian of American philosophy, social thought, domestic politics, and foreign relations, his most recent book is Power without Victory: Woodrow Wilson and the American Internationalist Experiment (University of Chicago Press, 2017).
