Angela Ciccolo, interim general counsel of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, holds undergraduate and law degrees from Georgetown University. Before joining the NAACP in 2000, she specialized in civil litigation in Washington, DC, and served on the Board of Governors for the DC Trial Lawyers Association. She received the Medgar Evers Award of Excellence in 2006. A member of the bar of the United States Supreme Court, she has recently worked in Jena, Louisiana, to safeguard the rights of several of the defendants in the case. This Forum was co-hosted by the University of Virginia Law School.
