MARC HETHERINGTON is an Associate Professor of Political Science at Vanderbilt University. He is the author of Why Trust Matters: Declining Political Trust and the Demise of American Liberalism (2005) and Authoritarianism and Polarization in American Politics (2009). He has published numerous articles in the American Political Science Review, American Journal of Political Science, Journal of Politics, Public Opinion Quarterly, and British Journal of Political Science.
