AMANDA BENNETT, executive editor for projects and investigations at Bloomberg News, a Pulitzer Prize winner and Wall Street Journal reporter, chronicles the extraordinary measures she and her husband, Terence, took to preserve not only his life but also the life of their family in her new book, The Cost of Hope: A Memoir. After Terence’s death, Bennett used her skills as a veteran investigative reporter to determine the cost of their mission of hope. What she discovered raised important questions many people face and vital issues about the intricacies of America’s health care system.
