Kyle O'Connor
Special assistant to the president and deputy director of speechwriting for President Obama
Kyle O’Connor graduated from UVA in 2008 and followed President Barack Obama from the campaign trail to the White House. O’Connor stayed with the Obama administration for five years, steadily rising up the ranks of the speechwriting team and ultimately working as Special Assistant to the President and Deputy Director of Speechwriting. As one of the youngest presidential speechwriters in history, he wrote major speeches on domestic and foreign policy issues. Following his work in the White House, he served as head speechwriter for Facebook
CEO Mark Zuckerberg from 2016 to 2018. O’Connor now serves as Senior Assistant to President Jim Ryan.
