In this State of the Union Address, President Eisenhower puts forth three purposes: to protect the freedom of Americans, to maintain a strong, growing economy, and to concern ourselves with the human problems of the individual citizen. He also touches on the need for a prosperous agricultural sector and for the protection of the country's natural resources through conservation.
