Unidentified Staff Member Testing the Recording Equipment—February 14, 1950

The recording is interrupted at this point, but continues later with only staff member
speaking. He tests the recording equipment by speaking as he moves to each of the chairs
around Eisenhower's desk. He states "I hope one of these days that the darn thing will
be fixed in such a way that we won't have to be checking and rechecking . At the end of
that test I'm getting up now. Walking towards the door. I'm still talking in a low voice
and I'm opening the door and there we are."
